Competing for Charity

In April of 2013 The Dance Center competition team from Perryville and Cape Girardeau studios competed at The Power of Dance Competition in St. Louis. The team won 22 platinum awards, 8 high gold awards, 3 gold awards, 5 first place overall awards, 3 second place overall awards, and 2 special judges awards including the Excellence in Choreography award. They also won the poster contest and Spirit of Dance Award. All of these awards resulted in the team raising over $456.00 for their charity, Friends of Kids with Cancer. Dancers from the Cape Girardeau team were Hailey Bedell, Caroline Kasten, Madalyn Henderson, Maya Kelch, Samantha Margetta, Peyton Peiffer, Ireland Smith, and Kayla Wolf. Dancers from the Perryville team were Jada Ayars, Allison Bahr, Mariah Bauwens, Briona Breig, Kailey Brewer, Faith Clinton, Lily Koch, Maddy Krauss, Taleah Mahathath, Maggie Maloy, Maria Peirick, and Carly Summers.
