Jennifer Stratman of Sikeston, Missouri won the ladies basket from the Brain Injury & Stroke Resource Groups Information booth, which she visited during the 2015 SEMO Dist Fair in September. The Brain Injury & Stroke Resource Group held an information booth the week of the fair in hopes to reach out to the community and raise awareness to brain injury and strokes. With the donations of bicycle helmets given by Saint Francis Medical Center the group was able to reach out to the younger generation and teach them the severity of wearing a helmet when they ride their bikes, scooters, ATV's and blades. The Brain Injury & Stroke Resource Group meet each month on the first Monday of each month at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. These meetings are free to the public and especially those who have suffered a brain injury or strokes; they themselves, their family members and/or caregivers. Next meeting will be November 2nd, with guest speaker Maureen Cunningham; Administrative Director of BIA-MO.For more information contact Marilyn Schott; (Facilitator) at 573-275-7552
