To the editor:
How can any thinking person say there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? There were none found, but wait 10 to 50 years and see if any are dug from the sand. From news accounts, the weapons inspectors were often prevented from going into certain sites and were finally made to leave Iraq. If Saddam would hide in a hole, why would anyone think he wouldn't hide weapons in one?
Our FBI, CIA, United Nations, Congress and other countries agreed Saddam had WMDs. If some people are so certain there were no WMDs, why haven't they joined our FBI and CIA so they can produce the results they so vocally think are lacking?
When Congress passed the $87 billion budget for the Iraq war, it was so greedy it included $21 billion of pork-barrel spending, leaving $66 billion to protect our country and for our fighting forces. Have you heard anyone explain this? Do you care?
