It's time to enjoy another weekend, and there are plenty of local options worth considering. Here are a few:n Homecomers continues through Saturday. Though rain dampened opening night, the cooler temperatures this week have been a blessing. Take some time to enjoy the festivities in Jackson.

* The Cape Riverfront Market continues Saturday morning. This is a fun atmosphere in downtown Cape Girardeau with vendors, demonstrations and entertainment. The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon and is located at 35 S. Spanish St.

* Train rides will be offered on the St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern Railway at 1 p.m. Saturday in Jackson.

* For runners and walkers, there is the Give Joy and Water 2 One 5K from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cape County Park North. Proceeds will help bring clean water to those in Guatemala. Check out semoevents.com for a link to register. Online registration continues through Saturday night, but those interested can still sign up in person the day of the race.
