We should have a say on trash

I would like someone to tell me why we didn't get to vote on Cape Girardeau's new trash system. We are the ones being charged for this. Shouldn't we get a say? Is this America or not? Where have our freedoms gone? ROBIN SLINKARD, Cape Girardeau...
