Washington suffers from dementia

The definition of dementia is described in part in the American Heritage Dictionary as, "Deterioration of intellectual faculties, such as memory, concentration and judgment."

Evidently the president and his followers have forgotten what occurred just nine months ago in the 2010 elections. The Democrats suffered their worst drubbing since 1938. Even President Obama called the midterms a "shellacking." The election was a clear national mandate to cut spending, reduce debt and deficits and reform an overreaching and oversized government. The Republicans gained 63 seats in the House, six in the Senate, 680 state legislative seats and six governorships. Yet the partisan divide and the total disregard for the American voters continues.

The new House has passed and sent a "Cut, Cap and Balance" bill to the Senate, as demanded by the American people. But a defiant Obama has threatened to use his veto power if passed. His dementia might buy him time temporarily as he attempts to scare seniors, women and young people into believing that only his policies can save us from default and Armageddon, but this is not 2008. The elections are over. We don't need a campaigner. We need a leader.

We don't need another uplifting speech with empty words and promises. We need a president who listens and responds to the American people. Remember us? We'll be glad to refresh your memory in 2012 when the American voters will remind everyone in Washington who really runs this nation.
