To the editor:Regarding the Speak Out comment "Unlawful sentencing": I guess it would depend on which side of the river you live on. The former Illinois governor who was convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from the people of Illinois is allowed to stay out of prison until his appeal is heard. The newspaper said he needed the time to get his affairs in order and his family needed him. What a joke. The family of Greg Sparkman needs him too, His daughter is having her 13th surgery. His wife and son need him to be at their place of business with them, His mother and 96-year-old grandmother need him as well.

To the meth manufacturer who got out of prison early and the officials in the Sparkman case who will be enjoying their families this Christmas: Please be sure to remember the Sparkman family, Greg's daughter will not be allowed into the visiting room with him because she will be wearing a cast. Greg is 365 miles away from his family because of a lie, a personal vendetta and a sleeping jury.
