Dear Wonderful, Generous People:
Once again, Christmas for the Elderly has taken our breath away at the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center! Our Conference Room (large enough to seat 600 folks) was brimming full of gifts food, fruit, charming hand-crafted Christmas ornaments, trees, and centerpieces, clothes, and animal food.
We thought we would never get it all delivered, but finally have seen the light of Christmas Day and are feeling the love of our wonderful Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois folks sharing their love and concern for our Seniors' that would have faced a bleak, lonely Christmas.
Well, rest assured this is not the case. The staff, oops elves, (thoroughly exhausted elves, at that) have delivered all gifts. The stories of tears of joy, and at one house, true jumping up and down at the sight of gifts is more than enough to replenish our energy.
To those who sent cash gifts we've already purchased food certificates and eased some medicine bills. This will continue throughout the year. You have no idea the amount of worry and concern you've eased and comfort given both emotional and physical.
To all of you great people the staff and I bow to you, and thank you most heartily. Christ's love for mankind is shining through you!
Merry Christmas!
Charlotte Craig, Director
& Health Center Staff
