To the Editor:
I'm presuming you are all aware of what is allowed to be printed on the comic page of the Southeast Missourian.
I'm writing to register my protests, in the strongest terms, about the content of the comic strip, "For Better Or Worse," that is running on on-going themes of homosexuality, of all things!
I'm sure you realize that the comic page is the only part of the newspaper that most young people turn to and since being fed a constant diet of murder, sex, rape, crime of every description on TV I'm enraged that the Missourian feels it has to duplicate the TV fare on its comic page. (Is it another example of "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"?)
If this trend continues I will not be renewing my subscription when it comes due soon, and I'm not the only subscriber who feels that way. (I have been a subscriber to the Missourian for many years and agreed with your conservative approach to the news and appreciate it that's why I resent seeing any "moral bars" be lowered or let down complete.)
