THE PUBLIC MIND: MOM THANKS LOCAL HEROES

To the Editor:

On Sept. 1, 1991, my son, Andrew, and I were involved in a canoeing accident. This letter is just to say thank you to those wonderful people who saved my baby's life. They will never know how much I appreciate them. Dr. Paul Spence, Mark Spence, and John Beussink - I will always be grateful to you.

I would also like to thank Phyllis Spence and Lisa Beussink for being so helpful that day and for the caring phone calls days after. You are so kind.

I could never thank you enough. Each of you means so much to me. What you did was very heroic. Andrew is just doing great; you would never believe that just three weeks ago, he almost died.
