In that century and a half, the Missouri Synod has grown to more than 6,000 churches with some 2.5 million members. Especially in the middle of this vast nation, the spires of Missouri Synod churches are familiar beacons in communities large and small.

Special events to mark this milestone in the denomination's history are planned for the next three years. On the occasion of this anniversary it is appropriate to extend hearty congratulations for the remarkable impact the Missouri Synod has had on this area, and best wishes for the future.
