I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the members of the Southeast Missourian staff and Carrie Bartholomew for the featured story in Wednesday's newspaper highlighting the slated events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and the civil rights era. Ms. Bartholomew did an outstanding job conveying the philosophy and reasons we celebrate and honor Dr. King and the civil rights era.

Also I would like to thank the Southeast Missourian for the media coverage it has provided throughout my 30-year tenure of coordinating events that keep Dr. King's dream alive. The media coverage is so very essential, and your staff has been there with us throughout this journey.

I also would like to commend Matt Sanders, who covered several years of the Dr. King celebrations. He too did an outstanding job of covering the news stories along with other members of the news staff.

Also, a very special thanks to Fred Lynch who photographed many of the events.

Once again, thanks for your continued news coverage and patron sponsorship throughout the years. Take care, and have a blessed year. Your support and assistance are so greatly valued and appreciated.
