To the editor:
On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of Central Junior High School, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the individuals, businesses, organizations and volunteers responsible for making our first day of school such a success: Montgomery Bank, our Adopt-A-School partner; Todd Richards and KFVS12; Real Rock 99.3; Mayor Jay Knudtson; Kristi Howard, Lorili Ozbun and the CJHS PTO; Coca-Cola for the donated water; Pure Ice Co.; Dr. David Scala, Mrs. Fanger, Lisa Elfrink and the staff at the board of education office; our wonderful cooks, custodians and administrative assistants; our teachers, paraprofessionals and aides; Mark Bliss and the Southeast Missourian; Cpl. Al Spencer, school resource officer; Jeff Bonham, school resource officer; and John Buchheit, Cape Girardeau County juvenile office. Finally, I must thank our wonderful students for being with us and for making this a day of celebration. We look forward to celebrating the joys of education as we progress through the year.
