We bought a home in Scott City a couple of years ago. It is the last house on a dead-end street at the bottom of a hill. The neighbors said the street never gets taken care of during snow or ice conditions.
I suffer from a heart condition, and we actually wondered if we had made a mistake buying this house. Since we moved here there have been times when the street was iced over or covered in snow, and the hill would have been impossible to climb in a car or pickup unless the street was plowed.
Thanks to the Scott City street crew, Scott County Road District and the state highway department, the street has been passable after every storm. We want to say thank you to all the men and women who man the salt and cinder trucks and keep our roads throughout Missouri passable.
