Area students gathered before classes early Wednesday morning for the annual See You at the Pole event. They held hands around school flagpoles and prayed for fellow students, teachers, administrators, church leaders and family. In Cape County, more than 200 students participated.

The event began in 1990 in Texas and has spread to all 50 states and 17 foreign countries. Nearly 3 million gather each year.
