Support for Empty Bowls

Last season, thanks to community support, we received more than $6,700 in donations toward the Salvation Army's community meals. This year, our 8th annual Empty Bowls banquet will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope. Admission is $12 at the door with all proceeds benefiting the meals with friends program.

The Arts Council, 32 North Main St., will have a display of 15 bowls for a silent auction from Nov. 1 through Dec. 6. Please consider placing a bid on one of the premier handmade bowls.

We will have a booth (No. 97) at the Arts Council-sponsored craft show located at the Osage Centre, 1625 North Kingshighway. The craft show is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 24. Please stop by our booth and check out the artist-made bowls; they make great Christmas gifts!
