Stories spotlight school programs

I want to thank Aurora Meyer for the excellent coverage she has been doing on the local schools. My daughter is a freshman at Notre Dame Regional High School, and my son is attending St. Vincent De Paul School. The coverage Ms. Meyer has given these two schools has been tremendous.

I think the Cape Girardeau community has always known that all the schools in our area provide wonderful education opportunities, but Ms. Meyer has also brought attention to the caring and compassion the students at Notre Dame and St. Vincent practice on a daily basis.

While I am pleased with the education my children are receiving, her recent articles on the St. Vincent's "Child to Child" campaign and Notre Dame's activity week (which, as her article brought to light, also included Christian-service projects) show that there is more than academic education going on at these two schools.

Kudos to Ms. Meyer for the outstanding reporting being done at the Southeast Missourian. Keep up the great job.
