CONGRATULATIONS, LADY RAMS. You played a great game in the Chaffee tournament. We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work.
I'D LIKE TO SAY I think the Country Club in Scott City looks great with lights this year. Keep up the good work.
MY WIFE LIKES to keep old newspapers every now and then. I read one from about two years back about a little girl who had lost her parrot with a yellow ring around one of its feet. I think that's the parrot I found two years ago and have been raising for the last couple of years. Sorry to say, two months ago my cat got to it. I guess you can keep your dollar.
AN EXPENDITURE OF $104,000 for an underpass to be used by how many? WISER closed. The park department needs money for soccer fields, which will bring in visitors. Why can't the visitor and tourism bureau, which has and is adding to administration costs, give money for soccer fields? Aren't having visitors to the city part of the job instead of adding salaried employees to it? Thank you.
I DON'T WISH any bad luck on John Madden, but I wish he would get fired so we could enjoy a football game without having every play repeated to us. I know the game or I wouldn't be watching it. I don't need every play read back to me. This man simply irritates me where I cannot enjoy a football game when he is speaking. Thank you.
THE RECENT LETTER dated 12-08-90 from Stephen R. Hawkins raises a number of critical issues concerning the local legal system. Such a charge appears to be nothing less than intimidation of a citizen. Indeed, if what Mr. Hawkins reports is true, the Missouri attorney general's office should be informed. I think Mr. Hawkins needs to appear as a guest on the "Don Pritchard Show." This will allow Mr. Hawkins a chance to present his case to the public and to allow those to report of similar abuses by the local legal system. Thank you.
ALL THOSE HOSTAGES over there in the desert and I'm talking about construction workers went over there to make big money. I don't see why we should go after them. Thank you.
I WOULD LIKE to know where I can purchase the book, "The Water Mills of Missouri Ozarks." Thank you.
The book is available at Waldenbooks, West Park Mall.
WE ARE LEFT TO wonder if the Southeast Missouri University Senate would be so anxious to celebrate the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday if their day off was authorized without pay. With truly great men such as Madison, Jefferson, Penn, Franklin, and others literally ignored on the celebration calendar, such recognition as a national holiday in honor of King is patently an example of pandering to a vociferous and sometimes threatening minority. Being rewarded with a day to loaf and be paid is a poor excuse for shutting down the nation's economy.
