THIS IS in regard to the lunchroom discipline at Scott City Elementary School. I think parents need to be made aware of what is going on. Ask your kids how many times this year they have been punished because of people talking at their table. Several days each week a whole class has to stand on a line outside on the playground through a whole recess period. There were some days last week the whole lunchroom stood on a line. They cannot even whisper. Get real. It isn't working. You have roughly one and a half months of school left, and this has gone on from Day One. Obviously the people in charge have no idea what they are doing. All the students are being punished because of a few defiantly like the attention and the idea that they caused the whole class to be punished. Recesses are to release energy. They come back to class more frustrated than ever with anger and energy stored up.
I AGREE 100 percent with the person who suggested the military solution for dealing with prisoners. I would be in 100 percent in favor of caning the prisoners.
I THINK it would be best for R. Joe Sullivan to leave the nature writing to the woman who does it best, Jean Bell Mosley. Although I found his travelogue interesting, I also found it poorly written. It included half-sentences and what I consider to be a lackluster demonstration of an attempt at inspirational journalism. Please, let Ms. Mosley handle this. She does it so well.
I HAVE a comment about Bob Griffin needing money for his lawyer. Why doesn't he just declare that he needs a public defender and let the court appoint him a lawyer? Why does he have to ask for donations? This is just a way so his gambling cronies can pay for his lawyers.
