AS A small business person here in Cape, I just received a letter today that stated that beginning on April 15, 1995, AT&T was going to start charging me $5 a month minimum for long distance usage. This is whether I use the service or not. Today is April 13, and it's a Thursday, that gives me two days in which to find a new long distance carrier or face AT&T's monthly minimum. This really angers me considering I have called another long distance carrier and they told me it could take up to five days to get the service changed. I was wondering, could the Public Service Commission shed some light on how AT&T can bring this billing practice into affect with little or no notice to the people who are using their company? I realize that the telephone companies have been deregulated, and this is simply one of the very bad factors that have come out of it. I can only hope that the United States government does not privatize the postal service. I would hate to have the same kind of mess with the post office that we are having now with the telephone companies.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, you are beautiful. Thanks to everyone who planted flowers, trees and shrubs to make Cape so beautiful. A blessed Easter to everyone. Thank you.
WELL, SINCE all you bed-wetting liberals have been calling in Speak Out asking where you can get "Flush Rush" bumper stickers, I guess I need to call in and ask where I can get some "Rush is Right" bumper stickers to put on my trucks. I have been looking for them, and I called KZIM at one time and they said they were out, and I was wondering if there was any other place I can get them. Thank you.
A CALLER stated that guns don't kill people, people kill people. That's like saying automobiles don't kill people, speeders or drunk drivers kill people, and yet we have laws against them. I wonder why the auto makers didn't pay off the politicians to kill all laws pertaining to cars. Narcotics don't kill people, pushers kill people. That's why it's an illegal operation. I'm also surprised that the drug lords haven't paid off our beloved Congress to make drugs legal. Guns do kill people, like the wild man on the New York subway or that crazy man in the San Francisco law office. Tell the surviving relatives about guns.
HAVE YOU noticed how annoying commercials are on TV lately. Car dealers seem to think they have to scream to get your attention. Wrong, I just hit the mute button. Then there is the one of a young farm couple who had twins, I guess that has run about 800 times so far, again the mute button. I forgot who the sponsor was. The worst of all is the guy screaming and hopping up and down like a plucked chicken, the mute button immediately. Don't know who that sponsor is either.
