WELL, SCORE another one for the liberal atheists regarding the Cape LaCroix issue, and now I see SIU and SEMO universities have proudly jumped on the godless bandwagon. Actually, these schools are terrified of losing their precious federal and state handouts. Oh well, if these universities can ban prayer at graduate ceremonies, then they should not require Christian graduates to attend such a worthless secular function. I know I won't if and when I bother to complete my master's degree. It now seems like a dirty, worthless document. SEMO can just mail my degree to me, and I hope other Christian graduates boycott these secular ceremonies and hold their own graduation, where, when and how they please.
I WOULD like to make a comment about the political correctness crowd such as that which wants to remove this cross. When you look at this political correctness crowd, it has nothing to do with politics; it has everything to do with washing away religious people. This is a group of only 2,200 people. How can a group of only 2,200 people tell a group of millions that they can't worship and do what they want? I just think there's going to be a big battle. Like the Bible claims, it will end up with the world doing away with God, and that's exactly what is happening. I think it's time Christians start to arm themselves like David Koresh did down in Waco. The news media claimed he was a whacko. He may have been having sex with kids, but that's no reason to go after these Christians like that.
I HEARD that at these intersections where construction is going on there's going to be a police officer sitting there to give tickets to people who block the intersection by sitting there during the green light. I don't know if this is true or not, but it would certainly be a good idea.
I WAS reading Speak Out about people complaining about pregnant women having to undergo counseling before having abortions. I'd like for someone to explain to me why it's OK to have a waiting period before you can buy a handgun, but you can't get a woman to have a waiting period before she murders a baby.
THIS IS to the person who asked why we arrest people and spend years trying to finally have a trial. That's because this is America and not Iraq, where you get tried and sentenced in one day. As far as the criminal having lost his rights, they're still humans and they have human rights.
I'M CALLING to say that I hope the superintendent of Cape Girardeau schools and Jackson schools will begin to dialogue with parents about OBE in the schools. We'd like to know what's planned for our schools in the next two years. Several states have tried OBE and thrown it out, and I wonder why Missouri is heading down the same path.
WELL, BILL, you've done it again: shades of hypocrisy. You're now echoing what Bill Clinton has said, what the Democratic Party has said, that we do have term limits: we have elections. Can't you even choose a different or more original statement? I'm sure you were voting for it and praying the whole time it wouldn't go through.
EVERY TIME I'm feeling blue, I turn on the weather and I fly right through.
THE STORY you ran quoted Dr. David Stewart as saying the casualty number from the New Madrid earthquake of 1811 was considerably underestimated, that upon some digging the number would be much higher. I would further expect the additional casualties to be in various states of decomposition. The stench much have been horrible.
I JUST wanted to say that I think it must be a pretty slow news day when Heidi Nieland warrants the front page and 40 column inches in the newspaper to talk about innuendo and gossip. The next time, Mr. Sullivan, that someone brings a story like that to you, maybe you should apply two more questions: So what and who cares?
