MEDICARE WOULD be far from going broke if all the people in the White House would take care of the American people, their own country, instead of helping all the other countries.
THE RECENT comments by the person who thinks we are hearing too much about killing babies from opponents of abortion is interesting but somewhat scary. To say that we should stop talking about killing babies seems to be the logic used by the man who tired of his doctor telling him he should stop smoking, so he changed doctors. Yes, we need to hear less about killing babies because we need to stop it, but not because we stop talking about it. The theory that there are bad people out there, including parents, who just might abuse this child anyway so it is OK to kill it is also interesting. Would this person accept that reasoning even in a less important situation? Say their boss tells them that it is possible the company might someday treat them unfairly as an employee and to save that possible problem he is just going to fire them now. Please, let's not allow abortion and other equally important subjects to become such political issues that we spend our time and energy debating the technical points of the different positions and forget the basic facts of the case. Are we, or are we not, killing babies?
I DON'T think Christopher Bond's commentary on grading the president is a front-page article. This is not a news item. It goes on the opinion page.
ABOUT THE snakes: My opinion is the only good snake is a dead snake. They're slimy, they're creepy and they just scare the dickens out of me, and I don't like them.
I WANT to respond to the person from Notre Dame complaining about Cape Central High School's graduation, I was there. The whole graduation was excellent from beginning to end. So was the speaker, Rush Limbaugh III. He spoke about the true meaning of what our children should be. Thanks, Central's board, faculty and students for a job well done.
THIS IS the old geezer. Someone made my day in Speak Out. It is about time we Jacksonites reviewed upcoming taxes. The caller was right on target. Your taxes will go up next year. You need to review your school board's taxing and spending. It's time they went back to 101 Economics. This whole mess started four or five years ago with "build on credit." People, get wise to what's going on in your schools. Check your board.
MY CALL is in regards to the person who is speaking about the tax increase in Jackson. Before they go and discuss how their taxes are going to increase, maybe they should go to the high school and see how many students are in that building, how overcrowded it is, how old the facilities are there and realize what an important tax increase this would be and how it would not only benefit the children now, but will benefit the children in the future and how this is going to make our community so much better. Quit being selfish.
I'M CALLING on the June 7 column by Peter Kinder. I'm a voting Republican and pro-life, but I want inform Mr. Kinder that this was one of the sorriest columns that I've ever seen. And there is no such thing as a partial-birth abortion procedure. That was dreamed up by the National Right-to-Life Organization. I defy Mr. Kinder to find this anywhere in a medical dictionary or medical book. And I guarantee, Mr. Kinder, I will do all I can to see that he is not back in office. This is absolutely sickening, and he has no idea what he's writing about and definitely does not belong in the Senate.
I'D LIKE to comment about the comment "Where's Notre Dame?" I agree with the parent who called this in. Notre Dame is not getting the attention it should get.
