Go to basketball games

TO THE teen-agers in Cape who say they don't have anything to do at night: Why not attend the great basketball games? Both Central and Notre Dame have great teams to watch play. Central played Carbondale Tuesday night. I bet there weren't 50 students there. Shame on them. That's good clean fun. Great kids were there.

The wages of sin

I WANT to comment about the floods in California. You know, Clinton carried California, and California is a very liberal state. I wonder if they're being punished because you know you reap what you sow. It's kind of like the people who voted for Clinton the first time. They're guilty of killing them kids down there in Waco because you know at Nuremberg we said German citizens who supported Hitler were responsible for killing the Jews. So these people who have supported Clinton are responsible murdering those kids down there. I know a couple of them who have come down with emphysema, heart attacks and cancer. Janet Reno got Parkinson's Disease out of it. So I want to tell those people something. They better making amends with the grandparents and parents of those children that they murdered or something worse can come on them.

I'M VERY happy for Heidi Nieland that she is going south, especially at this time of the year. Florida is one of my favorite states. I just wish her all the luck. We will enjoy her articles here every two weeks. Hang in there, Heidi, and go, girl.

Plow residential streets

SNOW REMOVAL of Cape Girardeau is terrible. The people who pay for all this work don't get their street cleaned at all. When they do push the salt and sand, it's always on the thoroughfare, which is OK, but the citizens who pay for it should have a little respect from the city to clean some of their streets off.

Stop complaining about cable TV

ALL THESE complaints taking up Speak Out space about cable TV. I'm tired of seeing this take up all of the Speak Out column. All these people have to do is have it unhooked. If are dissatisfied with your cable, have it unhooked, put you up an antennae and say bye-bye, but quit complaining in Speak Out.
