SPEAKOUT
IF A school superintendent did what President Clinton did, would you want him fired? Or would you want to go up to him, shake his hand and tell him you support the great job he's doing running our schools? What if it was the police chief or local judge or president of the university who did these things? What would you have to say? If you believe these people in local jobs would no longer be worthy of your trust and support, then how can you support our current president who holds the highest and most honored office in the country? Bottom line, if you can continue to support this president, you are contributing to the decline in morals and values in this country that so many people, maybe even you, complain about.. ...
Contributing to decline
IF A school superintendent did what President Clinton did, would you want him fired? Let Larry Flynt testify
THE REPUBLICANS have been insisting on witnesses in the trial with Clinton. If they pull in new witnesses, I think a great idea would be to pull Larry Flynt in and let him tell what he knows. That would be great.
Spanking sometimes necessary
THIS IS in response to "Against spanking children." I was spanked growing up, and I was not abused. I know there are some people who do not the difference between a spanking and abuse. I spank my children every now and then, and I do not abuse my children. I do try other forms of punishment like time out or taking privileges before resorting to spanking. Sometimes it is just necessary. Raising children in this day and time is much different than children 10 to 20 years ago. I have worked in a day care with 3- to 5-year-olds, and just talking does not work with some children. They throw chairs, curse you and spit at and bite you. If you notice, when they took corporal punishment out of schools, that's when children got out of control like they are now.
Power is everything
AS PRESIDENT Clinton gave his State of the Union speech, Mrs. Clinton smiled and beamed with pride. How could America honor him and Hillary Rodham Clinton, a woman who has traded her dignity and honor -- if she had any -- to praise a man who has been a womanizer, adulterer and habitual liar all his life. This is a man who has embarrassed her, her child and her family time after time. This woman has no conscience and no character, a perfect match for the president who continues to embarrass her. Power and prestige must be everything to this scum and to most of America.
Pat can speak for himself
POOR PAT Robertson. Now other people have to decipher what he said for all the idiots out here who can't make their own interpretations. And these people are from his own party. Pat, you are quite capable of expressing what you mean. You've done it for years.

Parents are role models
I'M CALLING about the "No role models" comment which says the president should be a role model for the children. I disagree. I think the parents should be the role models for the children and should let them do what they do and not do what they tell them to do.
Problem wasn't solved
TWENTY-TWO kids were arrested for loitering by McDonald's, mostly eighth and ninth graders. My 14-year-old was dropped off at McDonald's after 7 a.m. He was to be at school by 7:30 a.m. He had just enough time to eat, talk to his friends and get to school, just like they have been doing for 30 years. At 7:15 a.m., my child was arrested and kept from going to school. He was taken to juvenile lockup, searched, given a juvenile record and an unexcused tardy at school. He's never been late for school or had any other disciplinary action. Everyone from school administrators to the police and juvenile authorities knew they were arresting a lot of children. To my child I say, you're associated with who you run around with. To the school I say, a letter sent home, a phone call and my child would not have been there. Keeping kids out of school is not an answer, just a poor solution to the problem. To the police and juvenile authorities I say, you solved no problem. You just took the good with the bad. My child and along with others were made to suffer the consequences.
It started with hate
HENRY HYDE has argued and has convinced a number of our citizens that the impeachment trial is not about sex. We're way ahead of you, Henry. It started with hate -- hate for the other party and hate for people who disagree with Republicans. It started with hate, and the plan developed to pull down Clinton and put America through explicit pornographic details.
Lapdog of the right
THANK YOU, Southeast Missourian, for your article on U.S. Sen. John Ashcroft's PAC money. Not only does he choose to headquarter it in Virginia, but you have exposed the source. He is indeed the lapdog of the conservative, radical right.
Start all over again
I'VE BEEN following this impeachment trial. I've came to the conclusion that the way to settle this whole mess would be to declare all offices in the Senate and all offices in the House of Representatives vacant, and we'd have a national election and put in some people who know what they're doing and are honest and decent.
