Cocky troopers
WE KNOW a young man in a different part of Missouri who left the highway patrol for personal reasons. He enjoyed his work. But one of the things that he never liked about his job was that he had to work with too many younger troopers who were too cocky and felt they didn't have to obey every law.
Move along
THERE IS nothing wrong with the roundabout in Cape Girardeau. It is the abundance of fellow drivers who have no clue how to use one that is causing the problem. For those of you that don't know, the sign at each entrance is a yield sign, not a stop sign. Yield and drive.
Common sense too
IT IS true that education is a good thing. However, education is useless if you don't have common sense to go along with it. I have both education and common sense, and I am a conservative.
Where's the proof?
SIMPLY STATING evolution is "wrong" does not make it so.
They go hand in hand
THERE IS more evidence of evolution than there ever will be for God. People talk about evolution being a theory full of holes. Religion is based on principles that cannot even be classified as theories. And who ever said that if God created man, he just snapped a finger? Why could God have not made man over a period of millions of years? If God is eternal, I'd think that those seven days of creation took a pretty long time for him. We are not teaching schoolchildren that the Bible is wrong, just logical thinking based on what can be proven, not just on faith alone. If this were true, I'd still believe in the Easter bunny. Creation and evolution can go hand in hand from the proper perspective.
Please take action
I BEG the Southeast Missourian's powers that be to intercede and put a stop to certain commentary before we embarrass ourselves further by banning science and overruling the sensible verdict in the Scopes monkey trial.
Matter of proof
THE DIFFERENCE between evolution and creation is evolution can be disproved and creation cannot be disproved.
