I don't know what's worse on TV, the shows or the commercials. If a company feels that the only way to sell their product is through sex, then this society is sad. If they use sex to sell their products I don't buy them, period. I wish there were more morally conscious stations to watch...
TV immorality
I don't know what's worse on TV, the shows or the commercials. If a company feels that the only way to sell their product is through sex, then this society is sad. If they use sex to sell their products I don't buy them, period. I wish there were more morally conscious stations to watch.
Formula incomplete
SOMEONE submitted the formula that went something like this: Invest $1 in anti-pollution efforts and save $30 in health care. They forgot the part about the $1 spent on anti-pollution kills the job market in manufacturing by millions.
Liquor laws
WHY are Sunday liquor sales laws different from the rest of the week?
Spelling list
TO the parent complaining about the lack of a spelling list, have you ever considered that the list was something the teacher provided above and beyond the minimum? I'm sure the teacher was not required to give you a spelling sheet. So rather than complain when you don't get one, you should be thankful that you got one in years past. It is also the parents job to teach kids, not just the schools.

Lagoon maintenance
I hope the city couldn't have prevented the problem at the lagoon with better maintenance, because $100,000 is a huge amount of money to dredge it. It's a big part of the city, though, so if the cost is unavoidable, get going and get it done.
Stimulus failed
THE stimulus worked? Many people looking for work would disagree. Nine percent or more are unemployed. Saying the stimulus worked is like saying the operation was a success but the patient died.
Free trade
THE idea that trade protection and tariffs are good for the economy of the United States is ridiculous. Yes, they might help a certain industry's workers in the short -term, but the long-term effect is destructive even for that industry and they are clearly bad for American consumers as a whole. Moreover, historically, many historians and economists point to the Smoot-Hawley tariff act as a prime cause of the Depression. Fact is that America does better when there is free and fair trade as many places as possible.
Car show
I attended the Sept. 18 car show sponsored by River City Rodders. I arrived early and had to park at the farthest point away from the show. It seems the late entries received the prime parking spots. Maybe the sponsors should revise how to conduct the show.
