Chill is in the air. The leaves are starting to turn. This is my favorite time of year. I hope everyone pauses and enjoys God's beautiful creation.
Great football win by the new coach at SEMO. That was a lot of fun to watch. Finally, we have an offense that can actually score points! The atmosphere was great, too. Going to a college football game in Cape Girardeau is fun again.
I sub at three large area schools. I don't understand why one district still lets a sub work five days in a row and the others won't. You can't work 10 days in a row and then get teacher pay. Yet they expect you do the teacher's job for four days and get stuff ready for another sub on the fifth day.
I was very surprised on Saturday, Sept. 20. I went to Wal-Mart. They were selling barbecue hotdogs and brats. I went to go buy a hot dog and pay for it and a man walked up and paid for it. God will reward him for a good deed he did. I also want to thank him for what he did.
Yes, I'm calling about the street light that burns all day, every day, regardless how bright the sun is and how hot it is. It seems like it goes out maybe for an hour or so early of a morning. Comes on. And it's on the rest of the day. No wonder our utilities are high. We got to burn lights all day, pay for them. It's time somebody does something about this.
Does it ever occur to anyone how much a visit to an elderly person means? It would be a big help to overcome loneliness. Wait until you get old and you will find out.
People, it is time to tun back to God. Drought, climate change, Ebola. All these things only God can change. But people have forgotten God. This county used to believe in God, but now it seems He is forgotten, in our schools, our work places and mainly our government.
Thanks for the handrails. Thanks to the Jackson High for installing the railing at the pit. They're just what was needed for the safety of your loyal fans.
I found it so sad to read in the paper about the sex board that's over at one of the Southeast Missouri State University dorm halls. The idea you can have just fun, meaningless, soulless sex, that's nothing new for this generation. My generation went through that more than 40 years ago, and we found, many of us found, that there were a lot of consequences to that, to our spirt, our soul. If I had a child at Southeast or a grandchild at Southeast, and I went to see them at their dorm and in the hall there was something like that, I would yank my kid out of there very fast.
