The Hill reports that a bill proposed by Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., would require food stamp recipients to purchase only healthy food. I do not agree with this. The poor should be able to enjoy something different and good tasting once in a while even if it isn't the best for them. Congress members have it all...

The Hill reports that a bill proposed by Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., would require food stamp recipients to purchase only healthy food. I do not agree with this. The poor should be able to enjoy something different and good tasting once in a while even if it isn't the best for them. Congress members have it all.
Kids today
I'm wondering about our young kids today, teenagers and college students. It seems like young men want to wear their pants where they're about to fall off, and young women used to have flat bellies but a lot have beer bellies now. It seems like everyone needs to get into shape and take pride in themselves.

Bowen, immigration
Dr. Wayne Bowen recently opined that, in effect, President Obama is spending so much time on other issues he doesn't have the time to take up the crucial matter of immigration reform. Therefore, it should (in Bowen's view) be taken up and pushed by Republicans. This is an understandable point of view from those of a certain Republican mindset who are, unlike the president, unable to deal with more than one issue at a time, multitask or, if you will, walk and chew gum at the same time.
Meth lab seizures
Meth lab seizures are down, nationwide. However, Missouri continues to lead the way and has been No. 1 in meth lab seizures for every year but one since 2003.
