Farm bill

So, it's socialism for the big farmers and fend-for- your-own-food for the working poor. The House Republicans passed a farm bill guaranteeing farm income that will cost the taxpayers $1 trillion. Wait. I thought it was Republicans who were so concerned about excessive government spending.

No evidence

I was glad to see George Zimmerman acquitted. There was never enough evidence to convict him.

Dog trail

This is in reference to Cape Girardeau wanting to build a dog trail and a dog park. Since they have all of that money coming in from the casino, it could be said that one way or the other Cape is going to the dogs.

Don't build

I saw in the paper where the city is going to build a park downtown by the railroad tracks. Not a smart move.

No rallies

I see where Al Sharpton has called for nationwide rallies over the Trayvon Martin verdict. This is atrocious. Just let it go.

Changing times

About the person who called in about students using computers and going back to the basics, I would love to know that person's age. What this person doesn't realize is every student doesn't have a computer, and some kids will be left out. There's a wealth of information on computers. It's 2013, not 1920, you know. Times have changed.

Poor choice

Rolling Stone magazine really messed up big-time by plastering the Boston bomber's mug on the cover of their rag. They may as well have plastered the devil on it.

Zimmerman

After countless lawyers' professional opinions, the FBI saying there is no evidence of civil rights violations, the Department of Justice is still going for George Zimmerman's throat. This is what happens when you have a president who thinks he is God. Who do you think is behind this witch hunt?

Tragedy

It's a tragedy the life of young Trayvon Martin ended too soon. It's also a tragedy to continue to persecute George Zimmerman.

Sharpton's priorities

The Rev. Al Sharpton should devote his time and energy to solve the reason young African-Americans are the victims of such violent crimes. One only needs to look at the number of murdered black citizens in Chicago to see that racial profiling is only one problem facing the black community.

One person's theory

The person who called in about Bill Clinton creating NAFTA was only partly right. NAFTA was created under the older Bush and a Republican Congress approved it. When Clinton went in, he signed it, but Hillary told him not to because it would be bad. So it really started under the older George Bush.
