The following comment was inspired by Bob Miller's very admirable and ongoing crusade calling for more transparency in our schools and other institutions serving the public. You might Google the 10 most gruesome torture techniques from medieval Europe if you want to get an idea of the fate awaiting foolish area teachers who try to communicate their possible critiques to the public without prior administrative approval.
My wife and I decided to walk Broadway to see the new artwork and the new landscaping. What we discovered is sad. The city spent a lot of money by designing areas for plants and flowers. As we walked by, we noticed that the beds were full of weeds and were very neglected. Whose responsibility is it to maintain these areas of landscaping? If I ran a business on Broadway, I would be sure that the landscaping in front of my store would be spectacular.
