FOR Tuesday, June 7, the bicycle person that blew through the red light that was sitting at Lexington and U.S. 61, if you guys want all the same rights that we've got, then you need to follow them. If I have to stop, that means you have to stop, OK? Then, if you should be crossing sometime and should be coming down the road and you hit my pickup, it's going to make a dent in my pickup but it's going to put a huge, huge hurt on you...

Rules of the road

FOR Tuesday, June 7, the bicycle person that blew through the red light that was sitting at Lexington and U.S. 61, if you guys want all the same rights that we've got, then you need to follow them. If I have to stop, that means you have to stop, OK? Then, if you should be crossing sometime and should be coming down the road and you hit my pickup, it's going to make a dent in my pickup but it's going to put a huge, huge hurt on you.

More road rules

HOW do all these drivers who can't read speed signs or are color blind get driver's licenses? Yellow lines, caution lights are all ignored. No wonder we have accidents. Leave home earlier and pay attention, please.

Perfect time to panic

PRESIDENT Obama is trying to reassure us and tell us not to panic, that there's just no jobs out there. Well, I say we should panic and get a new President. What do you think?

Nuclear regs

RECENTLY a Speak Out caller mentioned that the nuclear plant at Fulton, Mo., had planned poorly because they didn't have a place to store their used material, and that is absolutely false. The federal Nuclear Regulatory Agency knew there was going to be a storage issue. They developed guidelines, found a facility, built the facility. It's at Yucca Mountain, Nev., and just before opening it after President Obama was elected, the new head of the nuclear regulatory agency who was on the staff of Nevada Sen. Harry Reed decided that we should not use it. So this is a perfect example of our government spending millions of dollars to research, develop guidelines, build something that is needed but then not use it.

Bloomfield Road

THIS is in regard to Bloomfield Road. Does the public realize what they are doing in the name of progress? Bloomfield Road is a scenic drive near Cape Girardeau and one of the few left in the area.

That boat's mine

I am calling regarding the boat that's in the Diversion Channel, just to notify all the people in Southeast Missouri it is owned. We do own it and have the papers for it, have contacted the police, highway water patrol, everyone knows that we own that boat. We're simply waiting for the water level in the rivers to go down before we can move the boat. We cannot move it until the ramp is out from under water or the level in the river goes down where we can move it by water, one or the other. We'll move it one or the other. But we can't move it yet. There is no possibility to claim that boat. It needs to stay there and if anyone tries to move that boat, it will be theft.

Stay out of my yard

I see in the news this morning that we homeowners are supposed to lock up our property, not leave anything in the yard, lock our vehicles and all this and quit tempting these burglars. Have I got news for the burglar -- you step on my property and try to take anything that belongs to me, you're going to find yourself staring down my shotgun.

I think of President Obama as a liar and stupid. However, he made two smart moves although they were conniving moves, especially with the timing. One of having bin Laden taken down. And two, talking about bringing our troops homes. He knows election is just around the corner and this is another scheme to bring his ratings up. Wake up, America, this is not a racial problem. I think Colin Powell or Condoleezza Rice, which are both black, would have gotten my vote any time that they run for office. So, America, get out and vote.
