To the person who turned my purse in to customer service at Wal-Mart after I left it in a cart, I want to give you a big thank you for your good deed and honesty. I will keep you in my prayers and ask God to bless you. Thank you again.
I was reading about the old Kage School, and I was disappointed it wasn't remodeled back into a one-room school house. Very disappointing.
Dear Speak Out: People wonder why there is so much shooting, robbing and killing going on. Has anyone noticed TV programs? Seems like these are all about guns and bad stuff and everything else on TV. Then people say, "They do it on TV, and we can do it too." Also, civilians have as much guns and ammo as the military.
I agree with the comment about the butchered trees. Cape used to be known as the city of beautiful trees, and now we've lost that image. If we really want to be environmentally friendly, we'll plant more trees.
I'll be glad when these insurance companies start writing up policies, that if you're texting or talking on the phone while you're driving and you cause a wreck, you will have to file an SR-22. And believe me, I'm a barber in Cape, and I see these people come into the shop, and I have to stop giving them a haircut because they've got to take a stupid phone call or text message. And by the way, that train up there that caused the wreck, it wouldn't surprise me if the guy was texting on the phone.
I just want to complain about the city not getting back here on Henderson and Butler and filling up this hole they left. And it's been well over a month. My mom lives there, and it's pathetic. You have to go through that hole every time you go to her house.
Well, last night I saw the speech that Michelle Obama gave to a commencement address. It was not a commencement speech. It was a hate speech. I think she showed her true colors. And, oh, won't it be good when we don't have them in charge anymore?
I wonder how many people have noticed the Republican legislature's war on the poor and hopeless, but the rich and wealthy are left untouched.
It's Thursday morning, and to the black Trailblazer SUV-looking person that passed me and ran both stop signs by Steak and Shake and then the next one, and just passed all the cars and ran all the stop signs, I had my camera going on my phone. So I will be calling the police and giving them your license number. So you might want to think about it before you took off on Mount Auburn and go wherever you were going 90 miles an hour. So I will be turning that over to the police.
