APPARENTLY thinking that local schools are capable of governing themselves, the voyeuristic state government of Missouri is considering requiring schools to report allegations of teacher sex abuse of students within 24 hours. In essence, this takes the matter out of the hands of local school district administrators to investigate such charges and holds teachers even more hostage to sometimes false student claims.
SINCE we're all going to be riding bikes in the relatively near future, I hereby call for the abolition of streets.
BLAME Bush for the war in Libya? Are you kidding me? Almost two years after he is out of office, the liberals still think their man can do no wrong and have to blame everything on Bush. Just proves there is no common sense, just common rhetoric in that party.
THE Republicans said when they took office in the House that they would make a difference. I think they really have. Now the economy is getting worse. Their plan isn't working the way they wanted.
FOR the people who are crying about the bicycle lanes being put in front of their houses, the streets are the city's property. They are not yours. They do not have to give you a parking spot in front of your house. That's a privilege they give you.
I want to comment about how the liberals have managed to get Glenn Beck's TV show canceled. They boycotted him and certain companies wouldn't advertise with him. This shows you what they're really like. These liberals are not liberal at all. They are very partisan and one-sided and they will shut up anybody.
I just heard on the news where Prince William and his bride are getting tired of the paparazzi already. You know, the same thing happened to his mother. We all saw this with Princess Diana before the wedding, during the marriage and after. They knew this was going to come up.
I took my grandson to high school recently, and it's a disgrace the way some of those students dress. And the teachers, too. They're supposed to be professionals. You don't wear flip flops. Dress professionally.
I can't stand drivers who don't get off the road to turn right. They're also supposed to accelerate into a turn. Care about the people behind you in traffic. It would help everybody.
IF they really want to balance the budget they should start by making all the alcoholics and drug addicts deemed ineligible for SSI and Medicare, Medicaid and welfare. If they do this, they can send them through rehab cheaper than supporting their habit. They have only disabled themselves by their own choosing.
IF we really want to see the budget balanced, we should start by cutting out the space program.
I was very impressed with Mona Charen's column on Alexander Hamilton. He had a meager background, born in the Virgin Islands and becoming penniless and orphaned at the early age of 11 years old. He later became the first Secretary of the Treasury in the United States and was one of the primary drafters of the Constitution. He was a wonderful person and born into very meager circumstances. I wonder what Donald Trump would say about him now if he was here.
THOSE new young Republicans who are screaming about cutting spending don't have a clue the suffering they are causing to many of their elders.
MANY thanks to the city or whoever was responsible for picking up all the trash on the East Cape Rock Drive hill.
DON'T blame the president for the increase in the price of gasoline or any other problems that we have today. He's a Democrat. Therefore he's not responsible.
WHEN George Bush was president, we blamed him for spending too much money. We wanted a change and we elected Mr. Obama. Now Mr. Obama is spending three times as much money as Bush was. We need a change, but the change we need is to be more conservative. We've got to be more conservative than George Bush. We've got to be more conservative than the Republicans. We've got to find people who actually want to spend less money than they bring in.
