TO THE person concerned about father's rights. Obviously you don't have a situation like ours and many other families in this world. The father shouldn't have any rights if he abandons the children. When he lives 15 miles or less away, there's no reason why he can't come and see the children when he is supposed to do. There's no reason why he can't pick up the phone and call. The children don't ask to see him anymore. I do think about what's best for my children, and it's not him. There are a lot of noncustodial parents out there who make sure their children have what they need: shoes, clothes, school supplies. And there are a lot who don't think about it and don't care, because if they cared about those children, they'd be doing what they could to see that the children's needs were taken care of.
THE CENTRAL High School Class of 1938 has had six class reunions. We attended every one and had a wonderful time. My wife and I were in this class. I was in a cold graduation part of January, she was in the hot graduation part of June. We've been married 53 years.
I'M CALLING regarding the drainage and erosion concerns in Fairway Estates that have been an ongoing dilemma in the city of Jackson. I have a letter from March from the mayor, Paul Sander, stating that Ron Unterreiner has offered solutions for this and that he was going to be constructing certain controls to keep this under control. It has not happened yet. We are in the middle of July, and it's very, very frustrating that nobody cares about what's going on. I really wish somebody would help us.
