Control of the media

WHEN THE television news reporters erroneously projected Al Gore the winner even before Florida's western counties and precinct's polls closed, they jeopardized and compromised the American election. Our media coverage is getting more and more like Hitler's control over Germany's media during World War II: complete government-biased control.

Changing the name

I AM calling to say that a group of citizens is still working on trying to have the name of the bridge changed to the Carnahan bridge.

We still remember

I WAS so glad to see a Speak Out comment about things to remember. Some of us do remember the Reagan-Bush administration and Iran-Contra with Ollie North set free, a Marine that should have been in prison. I am so glad to see that someone does remember that. And George W. Bush is no better than his old man.

It's the beneficiary

THERE HAS been a lot of controversy about why the tickets for the Sheryl Crow concert didn't sell as well as expected. Did anybody ever stop to think it might be because the benefit is for the River Campus? Nobody wants it, so nobody will attend the concert.

Count those votes

HERE IS what I make of the presidential election. Katherine Harris is for Bush, so she certified the vote she wanted. Regarding the lawsuits, the GOP has filed a number of them too. I really think there are thousands of votes out there for Gore, and the Bush camp is starting to sweat. Bush has a nerve acting like he is president. I think he will use every dirty trick until he is president. I say recount the counties in question and see who the real winner is.
