THE SPINELESS Democratic senators speak of what a wonderful person John Ashcroft is with his decency, honesty, character and dignity. Then their last breath is they don't agree with his judgment and can't support his nomination. Why can't these hypocrites tell it like it is? If they vote their conscience, they are promised to lose the campaign money. Everyone knows this. Why not tell the truth one time?...

She will be swayed by every group that opposes what is right, and she will vote pro-Democratic on all issues without considering any issues on her own. So I think we Missourians have made a very poor choice.

Turn off the lights

ABOUT THE energy crisis in California: Probably a solution would be if the federal government would require all states to adopt laws where advertising lights would go off at 10 or 11 p.m. This would probably save more energy than they need.
