I had to make a trip to the post office today. I went down Broadway. What a joke, for all the money spent on it. That was a waste of money and sure hasn't speeded up the traffic flow.
Seems that all we hear is reform this and reform that from the same people that control our government. Their answer to all problems is to throw money at it and it will go away. Yet we still have poverty, out-of-control immigration, ineffective education, energy issues, increasing health care costs, worldwide disorder, civil unrest, class envy and everything else people are unhappy with. The only thing we have to show for the money spent is enormous debt, and we still have the same old problems. And your government representatives still want to spend more.
About casino spending: I think it would be worthwhile for the city to take 10 percent and put it into a rainy-day fund for any emergency or disasters that may come up instead of spending it as it comes in. It would be nice to put some away for any disaster. Ten percent would go a long way to creating a nice fund for times of trouble. But I don't think the city will go along with that idea. We're more spend, spend and spend.
