Yes, there needs to be a traffic light put in where John's Pharmacy is and where the Wal-Mart new grocery store is. It's just not a safe situation.
This morning in the paper, the county wants to put the use tax back on the ballot. They have raised the property taxes the last two years. They're never satisfied. You know what? He acts like Obama: Tax, tax, tax. This is Cape Girardeau, not Washington, D.C.
They had talked about, when they put that quarry in at Fruitland, how they were going to put in a line of trees so that it would not look like an eyesore, like the one south of Cape looks like. And I've yet to see a line of trees going there by the Rhodes station to block it and make it less unsightly. Why not a row of trees near the highway? You know, come on. That was one of their promises to the people, that it wouldn't be an unattractive thing to the Fruitland area, because the name "Fruitland" is so beautiful.
I was reading in the paper about the lady about the driving rules. Well, a lot of people need to understand the rules a little bit more. When it's raining, it's the law to have your headlights on. Recently when driving, about every car I saw, and it was raining and foggy, and the lights were not on. If the cops want some money, they need to get out there when it's raining and write some tickets.
I'm just calling about the utility bills. I live in a mobile home. I'm a widower, and I'm on a fixed income. I don't use that much electricity. I don't even wash but once a week. I don't do a dishwasher. My utility bill was $177. I don't know how elderly people are going to be able to pay this and live off what their income is. I have a very low income. A very low income at the end of each month. I have to stretch. I have to do without to keep my utilities on, which I pay automatically every month. I never miss a bill. My bill's always paid automatically. But how in the world can AmerenUE raise our utilities?
I was reading the paper today. I noticed that some of the senior citizen places are taking a big hit in pay and all. I wonder how come it's always the senior citizens who are taking the hit. It's never a politician taking a cut in pay. It's never some of these people making way more money than they need to.
Brian Williams needs to be replaced by a more credible news anchor like, say, Matt Drudge.
Gulp. How many billions of taxpayer money has been spent on this? Quoting from Nicholas Carr's newly published, "The Glass Cage": "To date, there is no strong empirical support for claims that automating medical record keeping will lead to major reductions in health-care costs or significant improvement in the well-being of patients."
Otto Porter, Jr. (Washington Wizards) is starting to come on strong!
