What does the county plan to do with the money they charge to put up light displays? If they are short on cash, why not have county commissioners drive their own cars to work instead of supplying them with one?
There are still good people in the world, and we are especially to the good man in our neighborhood who took the time to look for us after finding our dog. Our dog had gotten out of the fence, and my husband and I were driving around the neighborhood calling and looking for him when this gentleman pulled up behind us, asking whether we had lost a small, brown dog. We were so relieved. Though we thanked him over and over at the time, words cannot really show how grateful we are to him for his kindness and his time. We just wanted to thank him again. Thank you whoever you are and thank you so much for being there for us.
During this busy holiday season, let's try to remember that teaching of loving our neighbor and treating our neighbors as we would want to be treated ourselves. I've run into so many people as of late who have truly walked in God's word by treating everyone they work with and they meet in the community with respect and love. Let's try to all do that during this holiday season and make Cape Girardeau a better place to live.
I don't think Obama knew the health care plan is a big lie. I just don't think he was prepared for the immensity of a plan that big. What I like about Obama is he's going to try to work on things and fix it, but if he does, then it's like the Republicans want to take full advantage of it and cause some trouble. I think it's wonderful when you have a president that sees a problem with a plan such as he did and halted once and said, "Hey, this needs to be fixed." I just think it's sad the other side will be so quick to pounce on it and take advantage of a situation like this. I think that Obama's probably got himself in over his head with the health-care plan because apparently he didn't have the right people helping him on this.
Does the Obama administration really think we're a nation full of low-information or no-information voters? Of course they were going to say the roll out website cleanup was a success. Who are we going to trust?
I would like to have someone tell me about our mail system. This afternoon at 2:30, the mailman delivered mail in our block on the other side of the street. At five minutes to 6 p.m., he came down our side of the street. Why does it take so long for a mailman to make the same service in the same block? I can't understand our new postal system. Can someone give me an answer?
It's commendable to be sure that every child gets a Christmas gift. I may sound like Scrooge, but do the children need $100 for toys? Do they have enough food to eat at home? Let's get our priorities straight. Would it not be better to provide food for the needy than spend $100 on toys?
