I just read Missy Kitty's wish list for Christmas and I am very proud that she issued that wish list, because I am sitting in my chair right now holding my little dog and telling her how much I love her. I think Joe Sullivan is a wonderful guy for being such a cat lover.
WE watched Ty Atchison every night in the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. It sure was a thrill to see a young man from our home riding those wild horses.
THE Dec. 18 Southeast Missourian front page was fantastic. I was so proud of the girl who graduated coming out of foster care. It could be the norm. A caller to Speak Out hit the nail on the head. They suggested the federal building for a children's home. I can think of 100 positive reasons why it would work. Money would go to one place, siblings could stay together, case workers wouldn't be buried in thousands of cases and have to drive many miles to check on complaints. We could know how they are treated. I could go on. I pray someone who has the power and resources will see this and consider it a solution.
WHEN President Obama took office, one of the first things he did was to go after the credit card companies and their outrageous charges. Beware, new cards come with new charges and are exempt from prior rules. Please read the fine print or call and ask questions. Once you're hooked, you're hooked.
HOW do we go about firing Congress? They haven't done a thing this year. In the private sector, they would have been out of the job long ago. Come election time I am sure a lot of them will be out of Washington, but they have high retirement benefits. We will not vote for Congressional incumbents.
THIS is concerning the dress code in the Cape Girardeau School District. The students have all bought their clothes for the school year, so it might be a good idea that there are no gang colors worn, nothing offensive sexually being worn, but still let them wear their same clothes and set up the new dress code for the new school year so people will have time to buy clothes for their children. Scott City has a dress code, and from what I've seen, it's no big deal, everybody dresses nicely. It's not like wearing uniforms.
