Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays which is correct? Is it wrong to wish someone Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? I have always wondered why this is a problem for some people as they both are basically saying the same thing. Holiday greetings can start before Thanksgiving and go up to New Year's Day and sometimes beyond. Why do we need to box our holiday greetings into a small area to just be sure we are saying Merry Christmas? I don't think it has anything to do with political correctness but only with personal convictions and feelings. I am a Christian and believe very strongly that the birth of Christ has to do with Christmas, but please keep in mind the Bible says nothing about "Christmas." So if I want to wish you Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas I will.
