Pink Cape

What a great feeling it is to drive around Cape and see all the pink ribbons supporting cancer treatment. I love this town.

New amendment

I have an idea for a new constitutional amendment: Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not also equally apply to the senators and representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the senators and representatives that does not also equally apply to the citizens of the United States.

Boxed in

Can't we come up with a new phrase? I'm so tired of people who want others to think outside the box encouraging them to think outside the box.

Unaffordable bill

My mother just received her Medicare Advantage renewal information for 2014. What a surprise; her monthly premium, co-pay and deductibles are all going up. Thank you, President Obama, for signing the "Unaffordable Care Act" into law.

Placing blame

I think Ted Cruz is blaming the wrong person on the shutdown stalemate. I think it's him and the tea party convincing the Republicans to be a little bit childish. If Republicans don't get their way, they whimper and whine and bellyache.

Cheers to Congress

I want to thank the Republicans in the House for not giving in to Barack Obama. He seems to think he's the only one in this country who has a say about anything. I don't know why Obama doesn't try to work with our Congress like he works with the heads of foreign countries.

No salaries

Here is the answer: Let's stop all lawmakers' salaries for one year. They have forgotten all of their public servants. God have mercy on our government.

Common sense

Common sense tells me that if you can't pay your bills, stop spending.
