Concert morality

I WAS also disappointed in the nudity at Rodney Carrington's concert. I didn't pay $38 to see women's breasts. Somebody can tell a joke about breasts, but that doesn't mean I want to see them. Women, where are your morals?

Water shortage

IF THE Senate's new renewable-fuels mandate becomes law, get ready for a giant slurping sound as Midwest water supplies are siphoned off to make ethanol. House and Senate negotiators are preparing for an energy-bill conference, and if the Senate's language prevails, America's economy will be forced to consume more than five times current ethanol production. Heavily subsidized and absurdly inefficient, corn-based ethanol has already driven up food prices. But the Senate's plan to increase production to 36 billion gallons by 2022, from less than seven billion today, will place even greater pressure on farm-belt aquifers.

Not for the kiddies

IF YOU were surprised at the Rodney Carrington Concert, you must not be a fan. He doesn't tell jokes for the kiddies. All the ads I saw or heard said you must be 18 years or old to enter. This should have thrown up a red flag.

Saudi terrorists

WE ARE fighting Saudi terrorists in Iraq. Al-Qaida is behind much of the trouble we have been having in Iraq. Many terrorists who have been captured or killed are Saudis. They follow Osama bin Ladin because he is a Saudi. As for fighting the Saudis: It's not the Saudi government that is fighting us. It's the radical Muslims who follow Osama.

Anti-Christian behavior

A CHURCH rejecting a person because of personal hygiene is so anti-Christian in its behavior. It is practicing an ethical abomination on a par with, if not worse than, the burning the of so-called Salem witches.

No public support

DAVID LIMBAUGH is not going to get much public support for rallying to Rush Limbaugh's side Rush can take care of himself. Besides, once the Fairness Doctrine is again enforced, he and other right wing talking heads will, for various and sundry reasons, fade from the scene.

What it's all about

MY HAT is off to the staff of Immediate Health Care to help those people in Bollinger County. That is what being a doctor is all about: helping to heal the sick and those in need. That is what America is all about.

What did you expect?

TO THE person concerned about the nudity at the Rodney Carrington concert: What can you expect from that foul-mouthed performer?
