THE person who made the comment about higher tax rates for wealthy people possibly being discrimination made under $25,000 in 2010. They (being me) were attempting to be impartial and fair, unlike many who preach about other people paying their fair share.
What's the holdup?
THEY have been widening Illinois Highway 146 between the Cape Girardeau bridge and Highway 3 for over three years. What is the hold up for two miles of roadway?
Occupy movement
AS the Occupy Wall Street movement goes global, it has now become apparent that it has taken the invention of the Internet and widespread use of social media and networking to bear out Karl Marx's prediction of a worldwide uprising of the oppressed.
Leave deer alone
LEAVE the "dear" deer alone. Like the American Indians, they were here before we came along to steal their land. Our city council would serve us better by taking care of business that really matters.

WITH the price of gas changing daily, a good application to have on your smartphone is called Gas Buddy. It will tell you the gas station with the lowest prices around you. If you are taking a trip, you can enter the ZIP code for your destination and it will give you the prices and directions how to get to that station.
American spirit
LAST evening I was traveling down Cape Rock Drive when I spotted good old American spirit. With all the bad news every day and all the stress every day, there on Meadow Lane were two houses all decked out for Halloween. It's the people of the Midwest doing what we do best: We carry on. Thanks for the displays and reminding me that not everything has to be about things that make us worry. Happy Halloween.
Bike license
I would like to make a comment about the bikes riding on the highway. My feeling about those bikes would be a lot better if they had a license. If they had to buy a license like a car does, it would have a right to be on the road. If they don't buy the license, they don't belong there. We pay for our highways. They should too.
