For just the third time in 40 years, millions of Social Security recipients, disabled veterans and federal retirees can expect no increase in benefits next year, unwelcome news for more than one fifth of the nation's population. They can blame low gas prices. By law, the annual cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, is based on a government measure of inflation, which is being dragged down by lower prices at the pump. But the House committee was engaged in a partisan investigation of the Benghazi attack. They have spent millions of the American people's money for their personal political gain. This should be going to the senior citizens' retirement. And they should be put in jail for their actions.

Benghazi motive

A second congressman admitted that the Republican House committee created to investigate the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, is solely "designed to go after" Hillary Clinton. Yes, and both were Republicans. They are ashamed of the other Republicans who have wasted millions of the taxpayers' dollars to make them look better, but that won't work as the people are finding out that they are crooked. They should have to pay the price and serve time in prison for what they are doing.

Kremlin rag

Why do people take anything from RT, formally Russia Today, seriously? It is propaganda, set up to spread lies from the Kremlin. It is owned by the Russian government, for God's sakes.

Politics, science

Congressman and physicist Rep. Bill Foster, from the 11th District of Illinois, said that more scientists need to go into politics. I agree with him on this; the most important issues in the world today are science issues. Science needs a greater voice in government, where a war on science has been waged by the forces of ignorance.

And Hannity said ...

Sean Hannity said Paul Ryan can't be Speaker of the House. Can he at least remain in Congress?

Secretive layoffs

Cape's MedAssets seems more secretive about its layoffs than Yale's Skull and Bones, the Freemasons and the Rosecurians combined.

Common Core battle

Although states may call it by a different name and/or pretend they don't exist, the Common Core education standards have been adopted and implemented in 80-plus percent of the states. In essence, the war against Common Core has been lost and that is a very, very good thing.
