Congratulations to the Southeast Missourian on all the awards received. I do enjoy reading the paper and appreciate all the people involved who make it happen, including the delivery people.
All this hype about the movie "Gone Girl." Sure it was great that a movie was made here in Cape, but no one has said anything about how much sex and nudity that is in it. I'm glad I waited to find out before I rushed off to the premiere.
Buying elections
Yes, if the Republicans want to get the low information people to vote for them, do what Obama did. Obama offered them health care. I think it's time for the Republicans to offer either a rice steamer or a deep-fat fryer.
Obama in history
Future historians will judge President Obama as among our greatest presidents.
Tracks repair
I agree with the speaker that wrote into Speak Out about the railroad tracks in Jackson. There is no excuse. Why can they not be fixed? Is it the train people's responsibility? Then, Jackson, jump on them and make them fix it. If it's the town of Jackson, then somehow get it done. That track is horrible.
I noticed where some states are canceling where you can't get these plastic bags for grocery stores, because they claim it takes up all the space in the landfills and they stay around forever. They do not. I tell you one thing that does stay around forever: beer bottles. Why don't they close bars and start recycling these beer bottles, because a beer bottle will never disappear. As such as the plastic, what happens when you get in an older model car? What's the first thing you see on the dashboard? It's cracking, because plastic breaks down when it's in the sun.
