Thanks to everyone who made Tunes at Twilight possible. It was another great year. And the weather couldn't have been better.
I'm sorry, but if you think you fixed the railroad tracks there at Jackson close to Country Mart, put a little patch and stuff on it, it did no good. You didn't do enough. It's still just as bad as it was.
I see where somebody wasted an enormous amount of money giving citizens of Ferguson, Missouri, body cameras to wear. Of course, half of those will immediately be sold, and the other half will be dumped as soon as they realize their own actions will be recorded as well. Because those also pick up voice. So, those will also be a ginormous waste of time and effort and money.
To all you animals who dump animals out in the woods or out on the highway or in small towns, shame on you. These dogs are left. They fend for themselves, find food. People around there already have dogs. Don't you know there's a place called the Humane Society that you can take these animals?
I also want to comment about people ignoring red lights. I was at red lights today on Kingshighway. At Broadway, at least four cars came from Broadway when my light was clearly green for several seconds. Later, the same thing happened at William. Police should do a better job of monitoring this busy roadway. I bet the North Carthage police would!
Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the meal. A president who thinks he's better than any cook, speech writer, political consultant, doctor, general, is a prescription for governmental disaster. Lo and behold, we are now facing government disaster. Special thanks to President Obama and his hubris for that.
Obama is going to great lengths to suggest his wars are not the same as George Bush's wars. He's right. Obama's are worse. Obama is such a hypocrite.
I'm worried that people will think that North Carthage is Cape Girardeau. Even the head of tourism said something like that, pointing out that the author had our fair city in mind as she wrote the book. Stop saying that! If the author said our city is what she had in mind, then, in fact, to her, we are North Carthage. That's horrible. I hope this movie does well and everyone wins an Academy Award. But I'm not sure I like the ways Cape is being brought into the publicity.
I've traveled to many towns, and one thing that almost always comes to mind when I do is that Cape Girardeau has some of the best streets around. The streets in other places don't compare. Sure, some of Cape's streets need repair. That's the nature of streets; over time they deteriorate, especially after heavy winters with a lot of salt. But overall, the quality of streets here are so much better than most other places. Thanks, city, for what you do. And special thanks to the taxpayers who periodically approve the transportation trust fund that is dedicated to improving our roads.
The flowers are pretty at the corner of Independence and Broadview but obstruct the view at the intersection of traffic. I am afraid it is going to cause a wreck and someone may be hurt. There may be more intersections that have that kind of problem around town, which need something done or changed.
