IT'S January, and Cape Girardeau County road crews are trimming roadsides. They do not need to be trimmed. This is a waste of tax dollars. Even in the summer when trimming is necessary, the mowers go back and forth on this road. I worked for the Jackson street department and would have been fired for this waste of time. County commissioners need to take a look at cutting employees...
Roadside trimming

REGARDING people backing out of parking spots: Think how much safer it is to pull through.

Moral scapegoat
ACCORDING to research, single parenthood has no effect on student achievement one way or the other. Speak Out moralists must try another method of scapegoating.
Helping Haiti
REGARDING the comment that said we should read the Bible before we slam Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson about what they said about the people of Haiti: Shame on you. When I think about what they said, it makes me sick to my stomach. Anyone who believes the people of Haiti "got what they deserved" is, in my opinion, definitely not Christian. When I watch TV and see what those poor people are going through, and the faith and the courage that they are showing, it makes me feel like they are the ones who are true Christians. I believe we need to give what we can and keep them in their prayers. As Christians, that's what we should do.
