The wait for the Southeast Missouri State football season is finally over. The Redhawks take on Memphis on Saturday night in their season opener.
It's coach Tom Matukewicz's third season at the helm of the Southeast program, and there's plenty of preseason coverage of the team on semoball.com, including features on punter Alex Knight, linebacker Roper Garrett and running back-turned-wide receiver Tremane McCullough, for you to delve into prior to kickoff.
In the meantime, there's plenty of other Southeast sports that have begun.
The soccer team remains perfect at 4-0, including a season-opening victory against Southeastern Conference foe Tennessee. It was the Redhawks' third victory over an SEC team and first since 2004. The team's latest victory vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee was win No. 200 for coach Heather Nelson. Congratulations on this impressive milestone!
The men's and women's cross country teams begin their seasons today while the volleyball team is off to a 1-2 start.
We look forward to seeing what these teams accomplish and hope to see you out at some games this fall.
