If you're looking for something to do this Saturday, look no further than the Show Me Center, where the Southeast Missouri State University men's and women's basketball teams will face off against Tennessee Tech.
Saturday's games are being billed as "The Show Me Sellout -- Part II." The women's game starts at 4 p.m., and the men will follow at 6.
As the event's title says, the promotion is geared toward filling the Show Me Center. And to make this goal a reality, the Southeast department of athletics is offering specially priced group tickets for $5 a piece with a minimum of 10 tickets purchased. Tickets can be purchased for personal use or can be donated. Donated tickets will be given to disadvantaged youths in the area.
While last year's promotional game was not a sellout, it was the biggest game crowd of the season with 5,515 fans.
Saturday's game is also a "blackout" night. Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game.
Another promotional feature for Saturday's game is the halftime ceremony during the men's game recognizing the 2010 Southeast football team, which won the Ohio Valley Conference championship this past season. Members of the team will sign autographs between the men's and women's games.
Consider attending this Saturday's game or making a donation so disadvantaged youths in the area can cheer on the Redhawks. Tickets can be purchased through the Southeast ticket office at 651-2113.
